STAFF, DIRECTORS, ADVISORY COUNCILStaff President Russ Marane joined the Land Trust in 2006, after serving with The Trust for Public Land as a Project Manager for Coastal Programs in Georgia and South Carolina, and as State Director for Georgia. A land planner with more than 40 years’ experience as a consultant and developer of projects in Georgia, South Carolina, Florida and New Jersey, he also served in the Carter administration as Southeast Regional Administrator of HUD and as General Manager for HUD’s New Communities Development Corporation in Washington, D.C.
Director of Development & Membership Dana Pope joined the Land Trust in 2006 after serving as Director of Advancement at independent college-preparatory school, Frederica Academy. She has been a resident of St. Simons since 1996.
Susan Crowley joined the Land Trust in 2008 as Business Manager. A St. Simons resident since 2005, she was formerly an account manager for a custom furniture manufacturing company in the Baltimore-D.C. area. Before joining the Land Trust, she was employed by the Sea Island Company.

Advisory Council Created in 2007, the Land Trust Advisory Council assists the Land Trust with its long-range strategic planning and capital fundraising in order to accelerate its work on the island.
